Skilled for Printing

Skilled for Printing™ - Level 2

A group occupational therapy Program

Once hands are strengthened, we can shift our focus to writing with greater legibility and stamina. During these weekly sessions, we follow Handwriting without Tears to cover the fundamentals of printing, such as functional pencil grasp, letter size, spacing, letter formation patterns, and much more.

Practice activities will be sent home weekly.

Level 2 is for children who:

  • Have an awkward pencil grasp
  • Have messy, slow handwriting
  • Have difficulty using scissors
  • Have not yet mastered letter formation
  • Having difficulty with the organization of letters (upper vs lowercase)
  • Lack spacing in their writing

*No referral necessary. Insurance coverage may apply. If you or your child has funding through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), our services may also be covered.

"All programs that we have attended have been amazing! I like that even when we register for the same program each season, the programming is different. They encourage my child to try new things but don’t push him to the point he feels pressured."

"My hopes for my child are the same as any other parent … I hope for him to have friends and be able to have the same kind of fun I know other kids are having in their extracurricular activities."

"I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the activities my son completed during the Fun with Friends program. My son has attended other social groups which focused mainly on skill building. I loved that this program focused on hands-on learning and was actually fun for my son. I think this is the best way to learn!"

"Fun With Friends establishes core skills and understanding of making and maintaining friendships. Social skills have improved, he wants to play and have fun. This is a comfortable environment for learning and expressing himself without the fear of being judged by others. He realizes there are other kids like him and that he is well liked, he belongs and can be himself."
