Occupational Therapy for Individuals

Occupational therapy (OT), led by a registered therapist, uses a holistic approach to significantly benefit a child’s home and school life, play, everyday activities, and more.

Insurance coverage may apply. If you or your child has funding through

the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), our services may also be covered.

Individual Therapy

$140/hr

*No referral necessary. Insurance coverage may apply.

Through breaking down physical, emotional, and social barriers, OT can boost self-esteem, independence, participation, and functioning in activities of daily life including self-care, productivity, and leisure.

Participating in OT can provide support for your child that they can use in home, school, and community environments.

Currently, the individual occupational therapy services provided at socialskilled are:

Fine motor skills and handwriting: building strength in the small movements to improve handwriting, buttoning, cutting with scissors, using writing utensils, etc.

Mental health services: focusing on improving your child’s performance, participation, and overall well-being through psychoeducation, relaxation strategies, goal setting, skills training, and more.

Self-regulation: helping your child to manage and identify their emotions, feelings, behaviours, and responds to stimuli in their environments (i.e., management of tantrums, outbursts, anger, lack of focus, etc.).
