Talking with Friends™
A group Speech THERAPY programGroup Therapy – Talking with Friends™
Pragmatic Language is the use of appropriate communication in social situations (knowing what to say, how to say it, and when to say it).
Talking with Friends™ is a Speech & Language group that consists of up to 6 children, led by a speech-language pathologist. Our skilled therapist will guide the group’s learning and provide a supportive environment to help children practice their social language skills among peers.
Research shows that parent involvement is key to skill transfer across environments. All of our age groups will require varying levels of parents joining in to ensure your family is getting the most out of the program.
This therapy group develops social communication skills through targeted prompts, modeling, and play.
Communication goals are responsive to the needs of the participants and may include: Using words to express feelings; Requesting help; Maintaining conversation; Asking questions; Volume control; Commenting on topics generated by others.
